watchOS 3 brings some serious improvement to the Apple Watch. Apps now launch faster, and load up almost immediately. There’s a brand new Breathe app to help you meditate, several new watch faces and much more.
Alongside those improvements, Apple also brought some changes to the Watch’s gestures. Swipe from edge-to-edge now lets you change the watch face, and there’s also features like Control Center when you swipe up from the bottom-edge of the display.
One of the most notable changes has come to the Watch’s side button. In the past it used to access your favorite friends, but now it gives you access to your Dock. From the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, you can choose your favorite apps to occupy this space. From the Dock you can easily access these apps, and in my experience, these apps tend to load very fast.
With watchOS 3’s Dock, I can glance at what’s on my groceries lies, to-do list, or any upcoming calendar events.
Here’s how to set up your favorite apps in watchOS 3.
How to set apps on Apple Watch’s Dock on iOS 10 and watchOS 3
- Open the Watch app on your iPhone
- Tap on Dock
- Tap on Edit in the upper right corner
- Tap the + button to add your favorite apps to the Dock
- You can reorder the apps in the Dock by tapping and dragging the three line button on the right side of the app’s name
That’s it! There’s also a minus button to remove apps you don’t want in the Dock any longer.
