Every photo you take with your iPhone or any other camera will store EXIF data. This information shows what settings were used to take a photo such as aperture, shutter speed, and ISO — particularly useful for photographers. EXIF data also shows location information, which you may not want others seeing. Here are two great photo apps for iPhone that let you not only view EXIF data for your photos but remove it as well!
PixlMet
Simple interface, easy to use
PixlMet allows you to pull up your entire camera roll inside the app and view EXIF data. You can also choose to use the PixlMet extension inside your Photos app to view EXIF data on the fly. If you want to strip EXIF data out of the photo before sending it to someone, you can do that too. Just open any photo inside the actual PixlMet app and choose the Share menu. You can then choose to share the photo without EXIF data. PixlMet will duplicate the photo temporarily and send the version without EXIF, leaving the original in-tact. Best part? No duplicate photos will end up in your Photos app.

ViewExif
Bury the app, use the extension
ViewExif is technically an app, but you’ll only ever use it as an extension. For some, this method is more preferable. Simply activate the ViewExif extension and you’re ready to use it. Just choose ViewExif from the Share menu while viewing the photo you want to see EXIF data for. EXIF data will instantly load. If you want to strip EXIF data, just tap the Share button at the top and choose whether you’d like to share with or without EXIF data. Just like PixlMet, your original photo’s EXIF data will stay in-tact and the app will temporarily copy the photo in order to send it. Same deal, no duplicates in your camera roll. It’s worth noting that ViewExif allows you to strip data in the Photos app through the extension, PixlMet requires you to use the app.
