If you have an iPhone 6s or 6s Plus, 3D Touch allows you to get to certain actions even faster. The more I spend time with my iPhone 6s Plus, the more 3D Touch tips and tricks I seem to find. One of my new favorite 3D Touch actions lets you get to the redeem section of the iTunes and App Store apps even faster.
I’ve never been fond of the way Apple requires you to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the App Store or iTunes Store in order to redeem gift cards. Many family members and friends have messaged me in the past saying they can’t figure out how to add a gift card to their account. I’m glad to see Apple made it easier for those with 3D Touch.
As a side note, this works for redeeming both iTunes and App Store gift cards as well as promo codes a developer may give you, or the iTunes free download cards you find at Starbucks or other retail locations.
To redeem a code with 3D Touch, follow these steps:
- Find the App Store app or iTunes Store app on your iPhone 6s or 6s Plus and press firmly.
- Slide your finger to Redeem, or you can life your finger up and tap on it. Either method works just fine.
That’s it. The App Store or iTunes Store app will automatically launch into the redeem section of that app. Just enter your code or take a picture of it and you’re done!
